Inferno is a 2013 mystery thriller novel that was written by American author named Dan Brown. The book was released on May 14, 2013 by Doubleday. It was number one in the list of New York Times best seller list for hardcover fiction and combined print and E-book fiction for the first eleven weeks of its release. In this novel, Harvard professor Robert Langdon is recruited by the WHO to help locate a deadly pathogen. In the heart of Italy, Harvard professor of symobology, Robert Langdon is drawn into a harrowing world centered on one of history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces. In the middle of the journey of his life, Dante comes to himself again and realizes he is lost in a dark, savage, threatening forest deep in a valley. Inferno initially sold 369,000 copies at outlet that report to Nielsen Bookscan. It debuted as one of the bestselling book in the US. The book also remained no#1 on Nielsen BookScan for the week ending 26th May selling 211,000 copies and bringing its two week total to 58,000. Inferno is also discussed in academic scholarly debates as a diagnostics of the present.

About Dan Brown:

Daniele Gerhard Dan Brown was born on June 22, 1964. He is an American author of thriller fiction who wrote 2003 bestselling novel. The novel’s of Brown are set in 24 hour period and feature the recurring themes of cryptography, keys, symbols, codes and conspiracy theory. Brown’s novels that feature the lead character Robert Langdon also include historical themes and Christianity as motifs and as general result, have generated controversy. Brown states on his website that his books are not anti-christian, though he is on a constant spiritual journey himself and says that his bestselling novel “The Da Vinci Code” is simply an entertaining story that promotes spiritual discussion and debate and suggests that the book may be used as a positive catalyst for introspection and exploration of our faith. On April 14, 2011 Dan and Blythe Brown created an eponymous scholarship fun to celebrate his 25th reunion from Amherst College, a permanently endowed scholarship fund at the college. On June 16, 2016 Dan Brown donated US$337,000 to the Ritman Library in Amsterdam to digitize a collection of ancient books.
