About Clockwork Angel
Clockwork Angel is a novel written by Cassandra Clare. It is the first novel in the infernal devices trilogy. The story of the novel starts after the death of her aunt, Tessa Gray is sent a ticket to travel to London by her brother Nathanial. On arrival, she is kidnapped and abused by two sisters named in the novel as Mrs.Black and Mrs.Dark who work under the name of dark sisters. The rest of the book is based on her life with the new people and the world she encounters. The book became a best seller in New York Times list and it is considered as no.1 on the children bestselling list. The book contains many quotes referring to famous pieces of Victorian literature and it also have some glimpse work of Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Alfred Tennyson. The main character of the book was kidnapped by The Dark Sisters that are the members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a downworlder with a rare ability (the power of transferring will into another person). Friendless and hunted Tessa takes refuge with the shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swears to find her brother if she will use her powers to help them. She soon feels fascinated by and torn between two friends. About Cassandra Clare
Judith Lewis was born on July 27, 1973. She is better known for her pen name Cassandra Clare. She is an American author of young adult fiction, best known for her best-selling series “The Mortal Instruments”. In 2004, Clare started working on her first published novel City of bones that was written after being inspired by the urban landscape of Manhattan. She also writes prequel trilogy called The Infernal devices which is set in the same universe as The Mortal Instruments but set in the Victorian era. Infernal devices consist of three books one is Clockwork Angel that was published on 31st August 2010, Clockwork Prince published on December 6, 2011, and Clockwork Princess published on 19th March 2013. A fourth trilogy set in the universe was announced in 2012 and it is collectively known as The Dark Artifices. The first book in The Mortal Instruments was made into film.
