About Killing Floor:
Killing floor is the debut novel by Lee Child. It was first published in 1997 by Putnam. The book won the Anthony Award and Barry Award for best first novel. It is also the first book to feature the character Jack Reacher. It is written in the first person. The novel has three prequels. One is The Enemy second is Night school and the third is The Affair. Jack Reacher gets off a Greyhound bus in the town of Margrave, Georgia, because he remembers his brother mentioning that a blues musician named Blind Blake died there. Much to his surprise, shortly after his arrival, he is arrested in a local diner for murder. He then meets a local detective named Finlay and he tries to prove his innocence. This novel gets Anthony award in 1998, Barry Award in 1998, Dilys award in 1998, Macavity award in 1998 and Japan Adventure fiction Association award in 2000. Georgia has not seen a crime in decades, but within the span of three days it witnesses events that leave everyone stunned. An unidentified man is found beaten and shot to death on a lonely country road. The police chief and his wife are butchered on a quiet Sunday morning. Then a bank executive disappears from his home, leaving his keys on the table and his wife frozen with fear. The easiest suspect is Jack Reacher, an outsider, a man just passing through.

James D. “Jim” Grant was born on 29th October, 1954. He is better known by his pen name Lee child. He is a british author who writes thriller novels. He is especially known for his Jack Reacher novel series. The books follow the adventures of a former American military policeman, Jack Reacher, who wanders the United States. His first novel was killing floor, won both the Anthony Award, and the Barry Award for Best first novel. Grant’s prose has been described as “hardboiled” and commercial in style, with short sentences, often without a verb, more exclamations than sentences. He received The Bob Kellogg Good Citizen Award for outstanding contribution to the internet writing community. He also received Cartier Diamond Dagger, lifetime achievement by the Crime Writer’s Association.
