The truth about forever is Sarah Dessen’s sixth novel. It was published in hardcover on 11 May, 2004 and in paperback on April 6, 2006. In 2006 the audiobook adaptation of The Truth about Forever was one of the young adult library services associations selected picks for that year. Macy is still recovering from the sudden loss of her father. Since he died during one of their habitual morning runs, Macy gives up running and keep all her feelings by herself and she won’t able to share her sorrows with anyone else. The behavior of Macy results in giving uncomforted to her mother. Her boyfriend, Jason is currently away at Brain camp, when Macy attempts to communicate with him about her unhappiness with her coworkers at the library. At the end of her emails she confesses that she love Jason and in the reply her boyfriend replied to have a break until he returns in August. Upset and frustrated Macy joins a new job which she loves and she has a good interaction with her new coworkers. The main theme that is being discussed in the whole book was discussing feelings, love, and stress. The Truth about Forever received positive reviews. The Otago Daily Times stated that although not all of the characters in this novel developed as main characters they enjoyed the book overall because it comes with a strong story line. Kirkus Reviews criticized the plot of the story as being too conventional but also wrote that the wish team is lovable, the romance clicks, and reader won’t get irritated while reading the book.

Sarah Dessen was born on 6 June, 1970. She is an American writer who lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Sarah Dessen was born in Evanston. Dessen’s Along for the Ride made the New York Best Sellers List. Following the publication of Dreamland, Dessen taught at the University of North Carolina and wrote what would later become This Lullaby. Some of her novels have been among the ALA’s best fiction for young adults. In 2017 Dessen was awarded the Margaret A. Edwards Award for her novels Dreamland (2001), Keeping the Moon (2000), Just Listen (2007), The truth About Forever (2004), Along for the Ride (2010) and This Lullaby(2003). Most of Sarah Dessen’s novel deals with the change in youth’s personality as they go through some sort of tragedy and loss.
